Day 108
I awoke to a warm day already well underway.  I packed up and headed off to Baddeck's main attraction: the Alexander Graham Bell Museum.  It was air conditioned so I took my time enjoying the exhibits and learning a bit more about the man and his inventions.
Shortly after noon, I headed off to begin my return journey to Timmins.  I soon crossed the Canso Causeway and left Cape Breton Island and soon passed through Antigonish for the last time (for a while, anyway).  I took a few secondary highways to avoid a toll and soon found myself on the Trans Canada heading north into New Brunswick.  I had noticed a cheap motel near the Quebec border so I headed towards it stopping for gas and the occasional bite to eat.  I found my accomodations and moved in for the rather warm night.  After some surfing and TV catchup, I headed to bed.

Day 109: Hit the Highway
I slept in a bit and then headed back on the highway. I crossed over into Quebec and decided to take the longer, scenic route around the Gaspe   I stopped at a few of the main tourist sites and I soon found myself in Rimouski. After checking with a few friends for accomodations in Ontario, I decided to push on into the night.  It was raining on and off and I wasted a half hour looking for a non-existant highway but I soon found myself moving from a t lane road to a divided highway.  I drove for a while and then took a break to rest my eyes.  I decided to push on through Montreal to miss traffic during the day and soon found myself approaching the city.  My contacts were complaining and as a result I missed one of my exits and had to take a few minutes to find an alternate route.  I was successful and soon arrived at the Ontario border.  I crossed over and stopped at the nearby service centre to catch a few hours sleep.

Day 110, September 11
I awoke to a French-language news report and picked up enough to know that something serious had happened.  Once I had fully awoke, I drove on and listened on the radio as events unfolded in New York and Washington.  I stopped in Napanee for some lunch and soon arrived in Brighton.  I stopped at Presqu'ile Provincial Park and passed the day on the shores or Lake Ontario.
I headed off to meet my friend and we went for dinner and passed the evening surfing the internet.

Day 111
I awoke to a family preparing for a day at work and soon got up and was on my way to Oshawa.  I stopped in at the mall and picked up a few things before buying some fries for lunch and heading to the lake.  After lunch I had a nap and was soon on my way to visit with friends and head out for a birthday dinner.  We hit the Keg and I managed to get an extra sized cut of prime rib.  I mostly finished it but was pleasantly filled.  A nice evening followed a nice meal.

Day 112
I awoke to the sounds of my hosts preparing for a backcountry hike in Algonquin Provincial Park.  I had offered to join them but the groups were already set.  I collected my things and headed off to the Subaru dealership for a quick check on the brakes.  With nothing serious wrong, I started the drive north.  I considered stopping at Algonquin for a night or two but the temperature had dropped a bit so I decided to push on to Timmins.  I arrived back at my place around 6pm, 111 Days and 6 hours after my departure from TDH on May 25, 2001 after a journey of 21,030 km.
