Well, lets see..  Ah... 1) Drive to Halifax for conference  2) Tour East Coast for a while.  I think that's about it.

Seriously, aside from wanting to see the Cape Breton Highlands and Gros Morne in Nfld and see some icebergs and whales from a sea kayak, I haven't made any firm plans.  After the CPhA conference in Halifax, I'm not sure where I'm heading.  I've received most of the travel guides for Nova Scotia and Newfoundland so I should be well equipped to fill the summer with exciting activities.

Well, it looks like I'm headed around Nova Scotia in a counter clockwise direction starting with the Annapolis Valley and working my way out to Yarmouth then back to Halifax and on to Cape Breton.  I'll probably do Cape Breton Island in a clockwise direction although I may jump across to Newfoundland in the middle - time will tell.

Jun 2/01
I think I was going to rely on the internet for a lot of my planning.  I keep thinking to myself "Oh, I should look that up" but not having anywhere to look it up on.  Well, I should be fully up and running shortly.

Jun 10/01
I've found an internet site with all the main trails in Nova Scotia that I am slowly downloading (pulling the whole site isn't working).  I can then take them one by one with me with the Jornada.  The full descriptions with lengths are included so I can plan my time as well.

Jun 26/01
Well, the tentative plan is to finish off the southern shore of Nova Scotia and southern Cape Breton Island and then head across to Newfoundland in mid July.  I should have enough time to finish off the province before returning to Halifax for the CSHP AGM in mid August.

July 28/01
I've been a bit delayed in NF so I think the CSHP AGM is out.  I've seen a few whales and an iceberg from a tour boat - just not as thrilling as I had hoped.  I'll keep my eye out for a kayak outfit to get me a closer look.

Aug 25/01
With the summer winding down and cooler temps on the way, I'm heading towards Cape Breton Highlands (now that the forest fire risk is lower) for the last big highlight of the trip.  Soon it will be back to reality.
